1690: A Culture
on Parade to launch this summer
Summer 2004 will see the launch of the latest resource in the Symbols Interactive
Experience. 1690: A Culture on Parade looks at the contentious issue of the Loyal
Orders and their role and history in Northern Irish society. This DVD provides
an accessible introduction to one of the most challenging issues in Northern Ireland
today, placing the Loyal Orders in their social and political contexts and graphically
presenting the differing perceptions of the organisations and the issues around
them. A range of workshops have been added to the Nerve Centre's existing portfolio
of Cultural Diversity training to utilise the new resource throughout Northern
Ireland. 1690: A Culture on Parade has been funded by the Community Relations
Council with Peace Funds from the European Union and will be available from the
Nerve Centre in the summer of 2004. Contact John Peto (jp@nerve-centre.org.uk)
