As you are probably aware, for health and safety reasons, all alcohol served on these premises must be served in plastic glasses or bottles. At present we use disposable plastic glasses, which many people dislike and which more importantly cause an enormous amount of landfill waste. We have therefore decided to pilot a more environmentally friendly scheme using toughened plastic glasses which are reusable and which serve a better pint of beer. We hope you will support us in this and would welcome any comment.

The scheme works as follows.

On purchasing your first pint/spirit etc you will be charged £1 extra, each succeeding drink will be the normal price, provided you return the glass, and you will be issued with a clean glass each time, at the end of the night you return your glass and get your £1 back…
