Training Courses

Training remains a key project of the Nerve Centre. Each year the Creative Industries Training Programme provided over 60 full time places and nearly 200 part time training places.

Courses were made available in sound recording, MIDI, Graphic design, web production, Djing and many others.


Creative Learning Centres
In November 2003 the Nerve Centre set up a Creative Learning Centres in the former Youth Hostel in Magazine Street. A second creative learning centre was also established in partnership with the SEELB at the former O'Neill Memorial Primary School in Belfast. These learning centre’s will support both young people and teachers in their creative use of digital media technologies.The Nerve Centre has secured support from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, NIFTC and DCAL as start up funding for these two new Creative Learning

The Belfast Creative Learning Centre – STUDIO ON – was launched in March 2004 by Anthony Mingella.


CultureNorthernIreland
'CultureNorthernIreland' combines elements of the Nerve Centre's work in digitising Culture, Arts and Heritage in a strategic project for the future. The Nerve Centre has collaborated over the past 3 years with the Linen Hall Library and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL), on the project. The site explores our history, heritage and diversity and finds out how Northern Ireland became what it is today, and who will be shaping it for tomorrow. The site was launched in March 2004.
